Picture of a submarine and helicopter exercisingAfter my week on Islay it was time to drive east to pick up my sister for the second week of our holidays. During the ferry crossing back to Kennacraig the captain alerted the passengers to a submarine and a helicopter exercising not far away (pictures left and right, unfortunately the mist didn't allow for better pictures). I then drove on to Killin where I stopped for a look at the Falls of Dochart (below right). Picture of a helicopter flying above

Picture of a single track road somewhere in the HighlandsAlong Loch Tay (above left near Kenmore) I drove further east. Passing Pitlochry I approached the central Highlands. Soon I was surrounded by heather clad mountains (above right) and frequently the roads turned to single track roads (left, somewhere between Braemar and Tomintoul). Finally I arrived in Tomintoul, where my sister was waiting in the Glen Avon Hotel (Phone 01807-580218, Fax 01807-580733). Our holiday together would start the next day.
