Clockwise from the top left you can see the development of fire-fighting appliances over the years. First a hand-drawn manual fire engine. Next a horse drawn Merryweather steamer from 1902. To the right a Leyland-Metz turntable ladder of 1936. And finally on the left a 1944 Austin K4 with a 60-foot Merryweather turntable ladder.	Back to the Science Museum Overview
