Woodhenge is another Neolithic henge monument thought to be even older than Avebury or Stonehenge. It is called Woodhenge because it originally was a wooden structure similar to Stonehenge. The concrete posts mark where the original timbers used to stand. | They stood in six oval rings which were aligned towards the mid-summer sunrise. The small mound in the centre is believed to be a child's grave. |
