Having visited my sister in Heidelberg in November 1999, it was time for me to invite her to Swindon after moving back here in July 2000. The planning started, emails were exchanged, plane tickets ordered and train timetables consulted. Shopping ("Can you bring some Jever Pilsener? I can't get it here") and packing lists followed. Finally on 4 Oct 2000 she boarded a plane to Gatwick. In the meantime I had tidied and cleaned the guest room. Not a luxury suite, but a room to sleep in. So what did we do during her visit? The first evening was spent in a pub around the corner, the "Wheatsheaf" (Thanks to Simon for joining us and helping my sister practising her English as well as listening to about 20 Cast songs...). On Thursday we stayed in Swindon as I had to deliver a presentation at work early in the afternoon. So we had a lazy morning at home before Imke went to town while I gave the presentation. We then met after I finished and visited the Great Western Designer Outlet.Friday, Saturday and Sunday we started with the real sightseeing (see below for the links)...
