With Easter 2003 falling at the end of April and just before my birthday I decided to go on to a mini holiday. The majority of the time would be spent on the Isle of Islay, the first time I was going to visit Islay at this time of year. Please find the travelogue from holiday with further details below: | |
Day 1 18/Apr/2003 My holiday started on Good Friday with the drive from Swindon to Glasgow and an evening in Glasgow. |
Day 2 morning 19/Apr/2003 The next day I started to make my way to Islay along Loch Lomond and via Rest and be Thankful into Argyll. |
Day 2 afternoon 19/Apr/2003 Via Inveraray and Crarae Garden I continued, arriving on Islay in the evening. |
Day 3 20/Apr/2003 My first day on the Isle of Islay I spent mainly at Ardnave, a very nice walk along the dunes. |
Day 4 21/Apr/2003 The second day on Islay I joined a guided walk around Saligo Bay, part of the Walk Islay walking week. |
Day 5 22/Apr/2003 On my last day on Islay (and also my birthday) I visited Bruichladdich distillery before catching the ferry back to the mainland from Port Askaig. |
Day 6 23/Apr/2003 On Wednesday it was time to drive home through southern Scotland after some last shopping at Loch Fyne. |
