With Easter 2003 falling at the end of April and just before my birthday I decided to go on to a mini holiday. The majority of the time would be spent on the Isle of Islay, the first time I was going to visit Islay at this time of year. Please find the travelogue from holiday with further details below:

My holiday started on Good Friday with the drive from Swindon to Glasgow and an evening in Glasgow.
Day 2 morning 19/Apr/2003
The next day I started to make my way to Islay along Loch Lomond and via Rest and be Thankful into Argyll.

Via Inveraray and Crarae Garden I continued, arriving on Islay in the evening.
Day 3 20/Apr/2003
My first day on the Isle of Islay I spent mainly at Ardnave, a very nice walk along the dunes.

The second day on Islay I joined a guided walk around Saligo Bay, part of the Walk Islay walking week.
Day 5 22/Apr/2003
On my last day on Islay (and also my birthday) I visited Bruichladdich distillery before catching the ferry back to the mainland from Port Askaig.

On Wednesday it was time to drive home through southern Scotland after some last shopping at Loch Fyne.
