Picture of Christmas lights hanging over a street As usual I had travelled to Carlisle after work the previous day, so I only had to drive the approx 1.5 hours from Carlisle on Thursday morning. I took my time in the morning before leaving for Glasgow, meaning I didn't arrive until after lunch. As the weather forecast wasn't too good and it was quite cloudy I decided to spend the afternoon in Glasgow.

After checking in at the Victorian House I walked to the city centre. The Christmas lights in Sauchiehall Street came on, bright against the grey sky. I briefly stopped at Glasgow on Ice in George Square, but as it was still fairly early it wasn't too busy and didn't look that nice in the daylight. My next stop was St Enoch for the German Christmas Market, where I had a nice Bratwurst and a Glühwein (mulled wine). Then it was time to hit the shops, mainly the bookshops where I spent way too much money as usual.
