Most of my pictures from the Isle of Islay only show a small area. On this page I will collect pictures showing you a little bit more: 180° (or thereabouts) Quicktime VR Panoramas. To view them you will need the Apple QuickTime plugin installed on your PC. The previews on this page give you an impression of what to expect, follow the links under the previews for the full experience. Note: Most of the panoramas are quite big, depending on your connection speed they might take a while to download.
A 180° view over Loch Indaal from Port Charlotte pier (2.6MB download). This panorama was taken on a calm summer evening in August 2005, the view includes Port Charlotte lighthouse and The Oa.
A panoramic view over Port Charlotte from Port a Bhàta. This panorama was taken on a mild April evening in 2006 during WalkIslay 2006, a nice view over Port Charlotte from the north.
A panoramic view over Port Ellen from the ferry arriving from Kennacraig. The view spans over parts of Traighgeisger Bay and all of Loch Leodamais. Whisky enthusiasts will be able to spot the road leading to the distilleries in the south of Islay.
A view over farm and fishing country on Islay, a panoramic view from Kilchoman over Loch Gorm and surrounding areas. The panorama stretches from Machir Bay in the west over Loch Gorm to the Paps of Jura in the east.
Another panoramic view over Port Charlotte and Loch Indaal, this time from the beach at Port Lag na Tràghadh. This panorama was taken on a warm summer morning in August 2006.

A panorama of the southern shore of the Sound of Islay, taken from the ferry Port Askaig to Kennacraig. The view stretches from McArthur's Head to An Cladach, taking in a number of hills in the area.

A panoramic view over the Sound of Islay seen from the Isle of Jura, Islay's closest neighbour. The panorama covers the northern half of the sound, stretching from Caol Ila to Rhuvaal Lighthouse.
A panorama of the view from the Kilchoman Crags over the west coast of Islay on a beautiful sunny day in mid June 2007. Too many places to list them all, but highlights include Machir Bay, Kilchoman, Loch Gorm and the Paps of Jura.

A panorama of dozens of seals on a sandbank in Loch Gruinart at the north coast of Islay. The seals are the main focus of the panorama, but you also get to see parts of Kilnave on the other side of the loch. Taken in June 2007.
