The Armin Grewe Homepage

I started with my homepage some time in May or June 1999 (If I remember correctly). At that time it was on the space my ISP provided (something like 10MB) and under the rather cumbersome URL http://home.knuut.de/armin.grewe/ (link doesn't exist any more). After a few months I became more ambitious and registered my own domains: www.armin-grewe.de and www.armin-grewe.com. Initially they were both with Strato, now I've moved the .com domain to Schlund + Partner.

This page lists the various older updates which happened since I registered my domains. Whenever the list on the homepage is growing too long I will move some of it to this page. Some of the links listed below might not work any more because I removed the pages, in that case you will get my nice 404 file not found message ;-).

Previous update 05 May 2005
Some bad news: Unfortunately there will be quite a few dead links on pretty much the whole site now. The reason? I've removed the guestbook. Why? It was just not sustainable any longer. Invisible for most of you, but not for me. The spam just took over. There were just too many spam messages in it every day, which I had to remove. Most of them were for things I don't want my visitors to see, so I had to almost constantly monitor it to be able to quickly enough remove these messages. I even had to get my mother to help me out when I was away. I tried a few fixes, none of them really stopped the flood. So I decided to pull the plug today. Thank the spammers for breaking a good thing.
I'll start removing the links soon, until then there will be quite a few "404's". You can still send me feedback through my Feedback form though. The spammers haven't broken that yet...

Nothing really new at the moment, I've just completed a bit of maintenance on my Isle of Islay pages. Just fixed a few errors, updated some links, that kind of stuff. And I've restructured the overview for my holiday & travelogue pages. The entries are now sorted by country, so that it should be easier for you to find what you are interested in. Hope to add a few new pages over the next couple of days.

Previous update 07 Aug 2001
I won't go into all the details, but my laptop is gone, broken, kaputt (If you care try my weblog). So I had to get my old desktop out again. Not as good as the laptop, but at least it works. Which means I was able to add two more pages to my Scotland 2001 travelogue: Our day on the Trotternish Peninsula (Isle of Skye) Part 1 and Part 2. More to follow soon. Hopefully.
Previous update 04 Aug 2001
I'm back, well, at least for now. After initial problems during the rebuild my laptop is currently working reasonably well, keep your fingers crossed it remains that way (and check my weblog if you have to wait for updates again). After the long wait another page for my Scotland 2001 travelogue is complete: Via Culloden and Urquhart Castle to the Isle of Skye. I hope I can add more over the next few days...
Previous update 23 Jul 2001
I give up and take a break. Looks like I need to completely reinstall Windows to fix my system. Decided to use the opportunity to upgrade to Windows 2000. Meaning: I won't update this site for a week or so. Also my response to emails will be absolutely minimal. My apologies for any inconvenience caused, but the constant crashes make any work almost impossible. Try my weblog in the meantime, I hope to be able to update that online, not needing my own PC.
Previous update 22 Jul 2001
Still fighting with computer problems, but managed to complete three more pages for the Scotland 2001 travelogue: Bays and Celtic Crosses on Islay, Driving from Islay to Tomintoul and Elgin and Brodie Castle.
Previous update 21 Jul 2001

First of the two promised pages is complete: Added the page about The Courts Garden. The page about Bradford-on-Avon should follow within the next few days.
Previous update 24 Jun 2001
Not much happening here at the moment. The reason? Here's the reason: www.grewe.co.uk. It's my second site with my weblog. Nevertheless, you can expect an update to this site very soon: I went to The Courts Garden and Bradford on Avon today. Expect the pictures in the next 2-3 days. At least one page received a quick update though: The page with the countries where my visitors came from.
Previous update 13 Jun 2001
Well, that's done again: The Sitemap is updated, so you can use it to check the structure of this site and what other pages there are
Previous update 12 Jun 2001
Started with the cleanup and moved some entries from this list to the History page. While doing that realised that it's now around 2 years ago that I first published a page on the web. Luckily no trace of that first page exists any more...
Previous update 11 Jun 2001
Added the third and last page to the pages about Stourhead Estate: Pictures of and views from King Alfred's Tower. This page/listing is growing rather long, looks like I need to start moving entries to the history page soon. Probably once I get round to prepare a preview page about the Wiltshire White Horses. And update the sitemap.

Added the page about Stourhead House and Stourton Village to the pages about Stourhead Estate
Previous update 09 Jun 2001

Previous update 08 Jun 2001
Well, nothing new here really. Just to let you know that I'm busy with another project at the moment: I'm "relaunching" (as they say) the family website: www.grewenet.de. Nevertheless, I hope to add a few pages about Stourhead Estate to the Swindon & Wiltshire pages some time this weekend.
Previous update 29 May 2001

Previous update 13 May 2001

Previous update 07 Jan 2001
Haven't found the time to update the page about CRM's House for an Artlover yet, hope to do that by next weekend. Previous update 06 Aug 2000
Quite a few things this time: Updated the "Routenplaner" where you can check directions on how to get to Swindon. Also messed about with some more DHTML and developed a page where you can create your own Smiley. You will need a version 4+ Browser with Javascript turned on for this (different to all my other pages). Finally moved a few lines from this page to the history page
Previous update: 30 Jul 2000
Not much new to report apart from that a dog now "guards" my private section of the website. This is my first brush with DHTML, so you need a version 4+ Browser with Javascript turned on to see the effect. Without it I assume you just don't see anything, the functionality as such should not be impacted. The pictures of my new home in Swindon I already loaded last week, but you need a password for that. And only my friends and family get that.
Previous update: 19 Jul 2000
Just a quick update: My new address can now be found on my contact and CV pages. Move went reasonably well, more later this week.
Previous update 9 Jul 2000
As the relocation back to Swindon is reaching it's final phase (the removal van is coming on 10 Jul) I needed a break after the hectic last few weeks and decided to make a few changes on this site: The main change being the colour, after some criticism of the old gray (silver actually) I went for a bright gold. Also added a few graphical elements to the C.R. Mackintosh pages. Even managed to add a few links to the CRM links page. However, this update is probably the last for two or three weeks until I've settled into my new job and house in Swindon.
Previous update 18 Jun 2000
Added a page with pictures of malt whisky distilleries on Islay in the Isle of Islay section. Also updated the links section (changed design and a new link).
Previous update 17 Jun 2000
After 2 years in Munich/Germany I'm moving back to Swindon/England to start a new job (still with the same company though). This means a few interim updates on my contact and CV pages. Final updates to follow once my move is complete. Also added Israel on my visitors page.
Previous update 09 Jun 2000
Still quite a bit to do on adapting all pages to the same design, but at least all of them should now work with my style sheet. As usual Netscape doesn't support all of it, but since it's only cosmetic it doesn't stop you getting the information and viewing the pages.
Previous update 24 May 2000
A cosmetic update mostly: Finally transfered the Scotland 1999 pages into the new design. And added a link to Kintra Farm on the Isle of Islay links page.

Sorry, Netscape users, your browser doesn't support this yet, but it doesn't stop you from using this site. For comments you can now also email me directly from this website with my new email form.
